The film was originally offered to Hollywood star Tom Cruise but he does not commit to accept it due to some other projects. The script was then rewritten to suit Angelina Jolie. Starring also in the movie are Chiwetel Ejiofor, and Liev Schreiber.

The movie is scheduled to hit United Kingdom on July 20, 2010 and in United States on July 23, 2010.

Angelina Jolie’s Salt Movie is due next July, the movie centers around mysterious Evelyn A. Salt played by Angelina Jolie. She’s a rogue CIA operative trying to clear her name from the false accusation of being a double agent.

“She’s a character you never know,” Lorenzo di Bonaventura previously told USA Today. “People who think they know the real her may or may not. Those who think they can tell whether she’s in a disguise also may or may not … She tells you her agenda, but are you supposed to believe it?”

The role was originally intended for Tom Cruise but was rewritten for Jolie after Cruise dropped out.
